And the region’s tech talent is booming -- in addition to Kodak and Xerox veterans, several colleges and universities in the area attract top performing students, including the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester.

New partnership with University of Rochester- Goergen Institute for Data Science
rel8ed.to Analytics is also excited to announce a new partnership with the Center of Excellence (CoE), housed in the Goergen Institute for Data Science and funded by the New York State Department of Economic Development. The Center’s mission is to advance the application of data science in New York State through strategic objectives, including addressing the growing workforce demand for data scientists.
We’ll be kicking off our partnership with a presentation and workshop at the University of Rochester November 5th on “What Data Scientists Really Do (and how to become one)." Working with data isn’t just about knowing python, or decision tree algorithms, or how to query data. It’s also about knowing what to DO with data – how to present it, how to speak to it, how to synthesize your findings into that ONE KEY THING that will satisfy your customers.
In this workshop students will perform a hands-on assessment and presentation of a key data finding based on prior research. They'll also have the opportunity to work in front of a business audience, which will include a reviewer from industry.

This workshop is a continuation of our Robot Training Academy series, Data for Understanding, running Monday nights from October 25th – November 8th.
In addition to our campus talk and workshop, we will be announcing rel8ed.to's planned 2022 capstone and research project opportunities for University of Rochester data science students. Join us on November 5th to find out more.
RTA partnerships continue to grow
Since our successful pilot with students this summer, the Robot Training Academy (RTA) continues to grow with 24 students enrolled in our fall program. We've also welcomed new institutional partners across Canada and the U.S.
While the RTA is entirely remote (and most students attend through our online platform) we do have on-site opportunities for students to attend workshops with experts in the field. And we're excited to now offer RTA students in Rochester the opportunity for on-site experience and training at our downtown location.
